Being an essential means to prioritize and protect your most valuable asset... You.
It means to not stretch yourself too thin, and to focus on the essence, or the big picture of your goals. To live in the moment, set routines, and recognize your small wins.
What purpose does this serve to this collection?
During the creation of the previous collection, “Fuck Fate”, I found myself creating with chaos. I knew what the message I wanted to convey was , but I felt myself struggling to stay focused on the essence of the project.
After the release of that collection I took a year to not just focus on how I would approach future projects, but how I approach everyday tasks, and how I could better take care of myself.
With the help of psychedelics, exercise, and journaling. I started by introspectively reflecting on how I carry, manage, and help myself in my day to day life.
In this time I found myself to be a physically, and mentally timid, cluttered, and neglected person.
With this insight, I began to cultivate the essentialist.
To achieve this I began to reflect on the words and suggestions of my elders, and peers.
As opposed to doing it myself and learning from my previous mistakes,
I started to understand the importance of organization in my life; setting a strict routine, as well as making lists of only the achievable, and realistic.
I began to see an inspiring improvement in my life, and with this I started to conceptualize my next collection. A collection with intent to bring awareness to this philosophy, in hopes that some may begin to start a new life; a life of an essentialist.
